Clockwork at Work

From the first of May, all smart watches and fitness trackers have been banned at work to help comply with DSEAR1. The ban covers everywhere within the refinery gates, including offices, not just plants where explosive atmospheres may occur.

As a result, I can no longer use my everyday wristwatch which is currently a fitbit surge. Rather than getting a cheep digital watch which is not banned, I decided to avoid electricity altogether:

The left is a wind up pocket-watch I have used with my kilt outfit for the last few years, the right is a soviet era mechanical pedometer bought online from Ukraine.

At this rate, by halloween, I will be able to go out in my work clothes and claim it is a steam punk costume.
