The last day of work before a holiday is always a weird experience. You obviously don't want to start any new projects1 that can't be finished within a few hours.
Everyone else knows this and so they start to avoid even asking you. As a result it makes for a very effective day to close out any other projects before you go.
Having closed out a couple of projects today I feel refreshed already. And I have only been on holiday a couple of hours.
- I am using the word 'project' in the same was David Allen's Getting Things Done does. That is a task that requires more than one step to complete. ↩
