Bumps in the Road

While driving around some of the back roads of Connecticut I noticed that in some places they have installed a rumble strip in the centre of the road when there are double white lines signaling that no overtaking should take place.

I think this is a really good idea. We have rumble strips at the side of the road on the motorway to stop people accidently veering off the carriageway. Installing them in the centre of the road to emphasise that you really should stick to your own side of the road.

One thing that these roads are missing is cats eyes, small reflective devices embedded in the road to reflect the vehicle headlights and mark where lines are. These would have made driving in the rain much easier and safer.
