Initially Useful

My parents have been away on holiday and while they were out, a parcel was delivered for my dad. I had been warned that this might happen and was asked to collect it from the delivery office. I agreed, that would be no problem. Until I had the delivery note in my hand.

The delivery note is quite explicit, you need to bring I'd of the person that the parcel is addressed to with you. And my dad was out of the country. I may have managed to find something in their house that would have been acceptable, but then I actually looked at the delivery note: "D Marshall".

They didn't actually write out the first name! And my eldest son is also D Marshall. So I used my son's passport to collect my dad's parcel.

That was definitely not part of the plan when we picked his name. But it was useful.
