Speed Golf

Some of my colleagues were discussing how to make golf more interesting. After all, as Mark Twain probably didn't say:

Golf is a Good Walk Spoiled

The improvement came in the form of speeding it up. How fast can you get around the course. Hit the ball and chase after it. No caddies or buggies. You have to carry your own kit. It is up to you to decide how much you carry.

It turns out that speed gold is a thing. People genuinely run around a course as fast as they can. Though the official version is probably more practical than some of our suggestions (a mass start would be fun to watch, though it would be a bit too dangerous after the first hits).

I think it could be a fun experience both to play and to watch.
