I wrote back in August about receiving a hackerX invitation and how I pointed out to them that I wasn’t a full stack developer, but a chemical engineer.

Well I have received another invitation to one of their events.

Q: What if my employer is there?

A: Don’t worry, before each event our team screens through each attendee to make sure there is never a conflict.

I am not sure I would put much faith in their level of screening. I am confident that my employer will not be there but that is because we don’t employ developers. If they spent anytime looking at my details to work out who I work for to avoid any conflict, I would have thought that it would have been obvious that my attendance would be wasting everyone’s time.
