Almost as soon as I published yesterday's post, I ran into a different energy supply issue.
We had been cooking dinner in our pizza oven when the gas canister ran out. Not to worry I smugly thought to myself. I knew it was low and a couple of months ago bought a spare canister so we couldq do fast changes rather than having to run down to the garden centre to replace it. I got the spare and full canister out and connected it up. Or at least tried to connect it up.
It wouldn't connect. I tried for several minutes before giving up. Instead we had to cook the remaining pizzas in the kitchen oven. I suppose the kitchen oven could count as an independent backup. But it was still annoying that the main backup supply wasn't available when we needed it.
It just goes to show that your backups are only good if they are tested.Go Top
